Butler Nursery School offers a creative and nurturing program that develops curiosity and encourages enthusiasm for learning. Butler is a place for art, science, cooking, movement, dramatic play, language, music, and social play. These activities provide each child with opportunities to learn and grow through play and interaction with other children and teachers in a warm and supportive environment. Butler provides students with solid academic preparation, readying them for full-day kindergarten programs.
Butler Nursery School offers half-day programs for children ages 2 to 4. Children need not be potty trained before entering the 2s program.
Butler is a Christian school, a program of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Tuckahoe, where students learn about the person and values of Jesus, attend kid-friendly services for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, participate in an annual Christmas Tableau, and say grace at snack time. However, we welcome and count among our student body children from a wide variety of Christian denominations and non-Christian faith traditions.
Butler is located in a residential neighborhood in northeast Yonkers. Our students reside primarily in Yonkers, Tuckahoe, Bronxville, and Eastchester.
